| Abstract (German): | Seit Anfang der 1970er Jahre setzte die DDR-Bildungspolitik vorrangig auf eine zehnklassige Schulbildung sowie eine anschließende Berufsausbildung für die Mehrzahl der Jugendlichen. Die Aufnahmequoten in die Abiturstufe (Erweiterte Oberschulen und Berufsausbildung mit Abitur) bewegten sich bis Ende der 1980er Jahre auf relativ niedrigem Niveau. Die "Abitur- Nachfrage" ließ sich jedoch nicht entsprechend dem "gesellschaftlichen Bedarf" planen und steuern. Der Beitrag zeigt an ausgewählten Beispielen Folgen des "geregelten" Zugangs zum Abitur auf die Auswahlpraxis und daraus resultierende "Anpassungsstrategien" von Schülern und Eltern in den 1970er Jahren. | Abstract (English): | Since the beginning of the 1970s, the educational policy of the GDR focussed primarily on a ten-year school education followed by vocational training for the majority of the adolescents. The enrolment quota for the final years preparing for the Abitur (extended secondary school and vocational training with Abitur) remained on a rather low level up to the end of the 1980s. However, it was impossible to plan and control the "demand for the Abitur" according to the "social need". On the basis of selected examples, the author reveals the effects of "controlled" admittance to the Abitur on the selection practice and the resulting "adaptation strategies" developped by students and parents during the 1970s.
