| Abstract (German): | In diesem Beitrag wird aufgezeigt, wie Instrumente der Sozialstrukturanalyse für die Bildungsforschung und insbesondere für die Adressaten- und Teilnehmerforschung fruchtbar gemacht werden können. Es wird die These vertreten, dass - trotz eines unbestritten weiter existenten Einflusses klassischer Herkunftsvariablen - Lebenslagenmodelle nicht mehr ausreichen, um Bildungsbedürfnisse, -interessen und Bildungsbarrieren hinreichend zu differenzieren. Verdeutlicht wird dies anhand der Gegenüberstellung von Befunden zur sozialstrukturellen Differenzierung des grundlegenden Bildungsverständnisses in der Bevölkerung. Basis der Gegenüberstellung bildet einerseits die schichtspezifische Differenzierung des Bildungsbegriffs im Kontext der Göttinger Studie; andererseits werden eigene milieuspezifische Befunde der Studie "Weiterbildung und soziale Milieus in Deutschland" herangezogen. | Abstract (English): | The authors show how instruments of the analysis of social structures can be applied fruitfully to educational research and to research on addressees and participants, in particular. They posit the thesis that - despite an undisputed, still existing influence of classical variables of background - models of living conditions are no longer sufficient to differentiate adequately between educational needs, educational interests, and educational barriers. This is made evident by a comparison of different findings on the socio-structural differentiation of the basic educational concept held by the population. This comparison is based, on the one hand, on the class-specific differentiation of the concept of education in the context of a study carried out in Göttingen, and, on the other hand, on milieu-specific findings of a study carried out by the authors, entitled "Further Education and Social Milieus in Germany".
