| Abstract (German): | Die Selbstporträts Rembrandts werden im [...] Beitrag bildungstheoretisch, d.h. als Reflexionsakt des Malers über sich selbst, interpretiert. Dabei unterscheidet der Autor verschiedene Phasen, die der frühen Ausdrucksstudien, bei denen der Maler sich als Modell verwendet, die der Selbstdarstellung in Historienbildern, in denen der Maler Rollen erprobt, und die als "Selbsterforschungsprojekt" bezeichnete Phase, in der sich Rembrandt von Tradition und Vorbildern am weitesten entferne. Der Malstil wird Ausdruck von Individualität und Originalität und dokumentiere ebenfalls den Selbstbildungsprozeß. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | The author interprets Rembrandt's self-portraits from a [pedagogical] perspective i.e., as an act of reflection by the painter on himself. Different phases are differentiated (1) that of the early studies of expression in which the painter uses himself as model, (2) that of self-portrayal in history paintings in which the painter tries out different roles, and (3) that phase which is designated as "project of self-investigation" and in which Rembrandt deviates the most from the tradition and from the models of his time The style of painting becomes an expression of individuality and originality and it also documents the process of self-formation.
