| Abstract (German): | In diesem Beitrag wird ein Prozessmodell vorgestellt, welches versucht, die Entstehung suizidaler Neigungen im Jugendalter zu erklären. Ausgehend von der Wertetheorie von Schwartz und Ergebnissen verschiedener empirischer Studien wird ein Modell entwickelt und getestet, das spezifische (selbstüberwindende und selbststärkende) Werthaltungen Jugendlicher im Alter von 14 Jahren über die Mediationskonstrukte Bedrohungen (mikro bzw. makro), Zufriedenheiten (mikro bzw. makro) und allgemeine Lebenszufriedenheit mit der Suizidalität im Alter von 17 Jahren (operationalisiert über die Prävalenz suizidaler Gedanken) in Verbindung bringt. Anschließend wird eine geschlechtsspezifische Modellwirkung geprüft sowie regressionsanalytisch die Bedeutsamkeit der im Modell verwendeten Variablen in Relation zu einigen aus der Suizidforschung bekannten Einflussfaktoren eingeschätzt. Die Ergebnisse legen nahe, spezifische individuelle Wertorientierungen geschlechtsunabhängig als zarter bestimmten Gegebenheiten suizidalitätsförderlichen Kontext zu betrachten, dem für Vergleich mit bislang bekannten Effekten eine substanzielle Bedeutung zukommt. | Abstract (English): | A model that tries to explain the origin of suicidal tendencies in adolescence is introduced in this article. Based on Schwartz's value theory and the results of several empirical studies a model is developed and tested. The model relates specific (self-enhancement and self-transcendence) value orientations of young people at the age of l4 to thoughts of suicide at the age of l7. The influence of values on such thoughts is postulated as being mediated by 'worries' (micro and macro), domain-specific 'satisfaction' (micro and macro) and 'general satisfaction with life'. The model is tested gender-specifically . The meaning of the model-variables is additionally analysed in relation to several influential factors well-known from suicide research in a regression analysis. The results suggest that specific individual value orientations can be considered gender-unspecific as a context having, under particular conditions, an increasing and substantial effect on the potentialfor suicide (also in relation to other well-known predictors).
