| Abstract (German): | Untersucht werden Veränderungen des Lehrerberufs in den vergangenen drei Jahrzehnten, wobei die Situation in der Schweiz im Vordergrund steht. Gestützt auf eine knappe Analyse der nationalen und internationalen Bildungspolitik sowie untermauert durch eine Kritik an einer umfassenden Synthese der Forschungsliteratur zu den Bedingungen von Schülerleistungen wird die These vertreten, dass dem Lehrerberuf eine Deprofessionalisierung droht, falls nicht rechtzeitig Gegenmassnahmen ergriffen werden. |
| Abstract (English): | The article examines changes in the teaching profession during the last thirty years with a special focus on Switzerland. Based on a concise analysis of recent trends in national and international educational policy and underpinned by a critical comment on a newly published synthesis of educational research on school effectiveness, the thesis is put forward that the teaching profession is in danger of being deprofessionalized. This is mainly due to a shift in the conception of teacher professionalism emphasizing a psychological rather than a sociological perspective. |
