| Abstract (German): | Seinem Reisebericht „Der Montserrat bei Barcelona“ stellt Wilhelm von Humboldt eine dreiseitige Reflexion voran, in der er das Ziel seines Reisens darstellt. Dieser Text wird hier als Grundlage genommen, um Humboldts ethnographische Forschungsmethode zu rekonstruieren. Unter Einbezug weiterer Schriften Humboldts wird gezeigt, dass seine ethnographische Forschung fest in seinem auf die Bildung der Menschheit gerichteten anthropologischen Denken verankert ist. | Abstract (English): | Wilhelm von Humboldt prefaces his travelogue "The Montserrat near Barcelona" with a three page reflection in which he presents the goal of his traveling. This text is taken as a basis for reconstructing Humboldt’s ethnographic research method. By including other writings of Humboldt, it is shown that his research is firmly anchored in his anthropology, aiming at the Bildung of humankind. (DIPF/Orig.) |
