| Abstract (German): | Der Autor war Präsident und ist heute Vizepräsident des deutschen Bundestages. Er konstatiert eine Krise der Demokratie und fordert, Bildung zum Zentrum des gesellschaftlichen Wandels zu machen, um diesen sozial und human zu gestalten. Vor diesem Hintergrund fordert er eine Bildung, die vor allem die Persönlichkeit stärkt und sich deshalb durch Werteerziehung und kulturelle Bildung beweist. Die dauernde Aufgabe ist die Sicherung der Menschenwürde als des fundamentalen Wertes für alle in der demokratischen Gesellschaft. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | The author was president and is now vice-president of the German Bundestag. He states a crisis of democracy and demands to make education the centre of the social and human change of society. Education means strengthening the personality. So it has to include political and cultural education. The permanent task is to guarantee human dignity and rights as the fundamental values of a democratic society. (DIPF/Orig.) |
