| Abstract (English): | Primary school textbooks are hardly imaginable without pictorial representations. Textbook images enable students to grasp facts and communicate with one another in a subject-related manner. This article addresses the research question to what extent Austrian textbooks have changed in the period from 1972 to 2022. In the qualitative study, a catalog of criteria was created by means of deductive-inductive category formation and 233 pictorial representations from 46 textbooks on the learning content of magnetism were analyzed. The results of the study show a significant increase in the use of graphics in the 1990s and illustrate evolving trends in the presentation of experiments. (DIPF/Orig.) |
