| Abstract (German): | Der Beitrag thematisiert den Zusammenhang zwischen der Informationsdarbietung durch Medien und der Repräsentation durch "mentale Modelle"; diese sind theoretische Konstrukte der Kognitionswissenchaft und werden als kohärente Wissenseinheiten definiert, die verschiedenen Funktionen (hauptsächlich in den Bereichen der Wahrnehmungs- und Denkmodellierung) dienen. In bisherigen Untersuchungen zum Fragenkomplex "mentale Modelle" wird Medien eine besondere Signifikanz für die Modellbildung zugewiesen, wobei auf die Funktion der Veranschaulichung und die heuristische Funktion von Medien Bezug genommen wird. Der Beitrag soll deshalb insbesondere die Frage thematisieren, ob Medien als Darstellungsmittel in einer wie auch immer gearteten Form die Modalität der mentalen Repräsentation beeinflussen. Hierauf bezogen werden sodann mediendidaktische Implikationen aufgezeigt. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | The connection between the way informations are presented through media and the representation through "mental models" is pointed out. Mental models are theoretical constructions of the cognitive science and are defined as coherent units of knowledge serving various functions (mainly in the scope of perception-modelling and modelhng of thoughts). In previous studies regarding the question of the "mental models" media are described as especially important for building up models; in this connection reference is made to the function of illustration and to the heuristic function of media. Therefore the article especially asks, whether media -as a way of presentation - can influence the modality of the mental representation to any extent. Refering to this there are furthermore shown mediadidactic implications. (DIPF/Orig.) |
