| Abstract (German): | Der Beitrag stellt die Frage, wie es heute um den Horizont der Zukunft bestellt ist. Herangezogen wird dazu in einem ersten Teil die Gegenwartsanalyse des Jugendrates der Generationen Stiftung. In dessen Perspektive wird Zukunft unter den gegenwärtigen sozialen, politischen, ökonomischen und ökologischen Bedingungen zu einer mehrdimensionalen Bedrohung, deren Gestaltung nur noch schwer möglich erscheint. Diese kritische Gegenwartsanalyse wird in einem zweiten Teil aufgenommen und zu einer real-dystopischen Perspektive erweitert. Entlang den Überlegungen von Günther Anders, Swetlana Alexijewitsch und Pankaj Mishra wird herausgearbeitet, dass die Gefahr besteht, dass die Zukunft nicht nur als Bedrohung erscheint, sondern selbst bedroht ist. Ausgehend von den Gedanken von Marina Garcés zu einer Neuen radikalen Aufklärung wird im dritten Teil herausgearbeitet, dass die Bedingungen für Zukunft heute gestellt werden und dass das Offenhalten möglicher Zukünfte durch die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit diesen Bedingungen in der Gegenwart stattfindet. | Abstract (English): | The article poses the question what is presently on the future's horizon. To examine this, the present-day analysis by the Generationen Stiftung youth council is being used for the first part. According to this perspective, the future is becoming a multidimensional threat under the current social, political, economical and ecological conditions and seems difficult to envision. This critical present-day analysis is being included in the second part and extended to an actual dystopian perspective. Along the thoughts of Guenther Anders, Swetlana Alexijewitsch and Pankaj Mishra, the danger is identified that the future does not only appear as a threat but is threatened itself. Based on Marina Garcés' thoughts about a New radical Elucidation the third part specifies that the terms and conditions for the future are being established today and that the maintenance of possible futures takes place through the critical debate of these conditions in the present.
