| Abstract (German): | Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, auf welche Weise die Schulaufsicht ihre Führungsaufgabe gegenüber den ihr nachgeordneten Schulen ausübt. Die Ergebnisse aus einer standardisierten Befragung von und leitfadengestützten Interviews mit Mitarbeitenden der Schulaufsicht, die in einer explorativen Studie in vier Bundesländern mit unterschiedlicher Organisation der Schulaufsicht gewonnen wurden, weisen auf die Bedeutung transformationaler, partizipativer und konsultativer sowie von Elementen transaktionaler Führung hin. | Abstract (English): | This article examines the question of how the school supervisory board fulfils its leadership role in relation to its subordinate schools. The results from a standardized survey and guideline-based interviews of school supervisory staff, which were obtained in an exploratory study in four federal states with different school supervisory organizations, point to the importance of transformational, participative and consultative leadership, as well as elements of transactional leadership.
