Abstract (English): | In 2024, the GERA published a new curriculum for educational studies and justified the revision with the challenge of countering anti-democratic movements, among other things. Against this backdrop, the article explores the 2024 curriculum’s political and educational implications and its academic concept. It discusses whether the curriculum achieves its goals of enabling education in the medium of science and assuming social and democratic responsibility. The discussion is based on a perspective of the university which, as a social institution, can only realize its mission in democracy by defending its freedom. (DIPF/Orig.) |
