| Abstract (German): | Der Beitrag bietet einen historisch orientierten Überblick von der Re-Education-Politik zur Demokratiebildung heute. Er skizziert zentrale Etappen, Paradigmen und Diskussionen von der Nachkriegszeit bis zur Gegenwart. Dabei wird ein breiter Ansatz gewählt, der nicht ausschließlich die institutionalisierte politische Bildung, sondern auch weniger formalisierte Ansätze der Demokratiebildung berücksichtigt, die in der aktuellen gesellschaftspolitischen Situation von besonderer Relevanz sind. | Abstract (English): | This article provides a historically oriented overview from re-education policy to contemporary democracy education. It outlines key stages, paradigms, and debates from the post-war period to the present. A broad approach is adopted, encompassing not only institutionalized citizenship education but also less formalized approaches to democracy education, which are particularly relevant in the current socio-political context.
