| Abstract (English): | In this paper, the author argues that the perception that educational research does not significantly contribute to practice is inaccurate. The perception grows out of an inappropriate mental model. The model holds that education research should directly and immediately influence policy or practice, much in the same way that physics directly impacts on the calculation for a lunar orbital flight. This model sets up unrealistic expectations that social science research, including education research, cannot hope to meet. (DIPF/Orig.) |
