| Abstract (German): | In einem historischen Überblick wird die Entstehung des amerikanischen Systems der Berufsbildung nachgezeichnet. Besonders betont wird dabei das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen den Ideen, die der beruflichen Bildung zugrunde liegen: Einerseits eine pädagogisch-gesellschaftspolitische Perspektive und andererseits ökonomische Interessen. Dieses Spannungsverhältnis spiegelt sich in der Debatte über die Form der beruflichen Bildung - "work-based" versus "school-based" - wider. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | The author presents an account of the history of the American system of vocational education. Special emphasis is placed upon the tension between the two fundamental concepts underlying vocational education: the pedagogical und socio-political perspective on the one hand, and the economic interests on the other. This conflict is reflected in the debate on the form of vocational education: work-based versus school-based. (DIFP/Orig.) |
