| Abstract (German): | Es gilt meist als ausgemacht, dass Bildungsgerechtigkeit in einer Gesellschaft dann erreicht ist, wenn Chancengleichheit herrscht. Dieser Beitrag erläutert die Idee der Bildungschancengleichheit, um sie anschließend einer Kritik zu unterziehen. Die Kritik zielt primär auf die gängige Auffassung, wonach ungleiche Bildungsresultate, die sich aus ungleichen Bedingungen des Aufwachsens ergeben, moralisch illegitim sind. An die Stelle dieser Auffassung, so wird vorgeschlagen, soll eine Schwellen-Konzeption der Bildungsgerechtigkeit treten: Demnach ist Bildungsgerechtigkeit gewährleistet, wenn alle Kinder ein schulisches Kompetenzniveau erreichen können, welches ihnen ein gedeihliches Leben in einer modernen Gesellschaft ermöglicht. Schulische Ungleichheiten oberhalb dieses Niveaus sind moralisch unproblematisch. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | It is usually agreed that educational justice has been achieved in a society once equal opportunities are offered. The author explains the concept of equal educational opportunities in order to subsequently criticize it. His criticism aims primarily at the common opinion that unequal educational achievements arising from unequal conditions of upbringing are morally illigetimate. Instead of this view, thus the author's proposal, we should have a threshold conception of educational justice: according to this, educational justice is ensured once all children are able to attain a level of scholastic competence that allows them to lead a flourishing life in a modern society. School-related inequalities above this level are morally unproblematic. (DIPF/Orig.) |
