Abstract (English):This article focuses on socio-aesthetic dynamics of recognition among adolescents who listened to arabesk music, a popular Turkish music style. Utilizing group discussions, my qualitative research analyses focus on how youths address and position each other when they talk in the presence of an adult about their music preferences and their own judgements of musical taste. The aim of this empirical analysis is to modify both educational theories of recognition and existing models of educational classroom research. With reference to the theme of the AMPFconference last year, the relationship between music pedagogical and educational science, this article pleads for an abductive dealing with educational theories from an empirical music pedagogy perspective.
