| Abstract (German): | Die Bemühungen um die Sondererziehung anormaler Kinder sind seit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts besonders durch Wiener Professoren der Kinderheilkunde und der Psychiatrie unterstützt worden. An der Kinderklinik der Universität Wien entstand 1911 die erste „Heilpädagogische Station" Europas. Die Pädiater Erwin Lazar und Hans Asperqer sowie der Psychiater Rudolf Allers haben wesentlich zum Aufschwung der Heilpädagogik beigetragen. Der Autor schildert aufgrund der im Archiv der Universität Wien und im Österreichischen Staatsarchiv vorhandenen Quellen erstmals das Lebenswerk dieser ärztlichen Pioniere der Heilpädagogik im Spannungsfeld zwischen Kinderheilkunde, Psychiatrie und Erziehungswissenschaft sowie zwischen Medizinischer Fakultät und Schulverwaltung. | Abstract (English): | Efforts to provide remedial education for mentally handicapped children have been greatly supported since the beginning of the twentieth Century by Viennese professors of pediatrics and psychiatry. The first "remedial education ward" in Europe was set up in 1911 at the Children's Clinic of the University of Vienna. The pediatricians Erwin Lazar and Hans Asperger, along with the psychiatrist Rudolf Allers, contributed substantially to the advancement of remedial education. On the basis of sources available in the Archive of the University of Vienna and the Austrian National Archive, the author for the first time describes the life work of these physicians who were pioneers of remedial education within the interaction context of pediatrics, psychiatry and educational science, as well as of the medical faculty and school administrations.
