| Abstract (German): | In diesem Porträt werden das noch junge Berufsbild "Geragoge/Geragogin" erläutert, dessen Handlungsfelder, breit gestreuten Themenbereiche und Ausbildung beschrieben und schließlich der 2009 gegründete Berufsverband der österreichischen Geragoginnen und Geragogen vorgestellt, der sich aus AbsolventInnen des Akademielehrganges und des Masterlehrganges Geragogik an der Kirchlichen Pädagogischen Hochschule (KPH) Wien formierte. GeragogInnen sind SpezialistInnen für Lernen und Bildung im Alter(n) und erachten das Alter als Erfahrungsschatz, Expertise und Reife. Das Ziel geragogischer Arbeit lautet: Potentiale, individuelle Ressourcen und Erfahrungen der älteren Generation zu erschließen und für die Gesellschaft nutzbar zu machen. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | This article explains the new occupation of educational gerontologists, describing its areas of activity, widely scattered subject areas and training and finally presenting the Professional Association of Austrian Educational Gerontologists (Berufsverband der österreichischen Geragoginnen und Geragogen in German), which was founded in 2009 by graduates of the academic programme and master programme of study of educational gerontology at the Catholic University College of Teacher Education (Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule – KPH in German) in Vienna. Educational gerontologists are specialists in learning and education in ageing and old age and consider age as a treasure trove of experiences, expertise and maturity. The objective of educational gerontology work is to tap into and exploit the potential, individual resources and experiences of the older generation for the good of society. (DIPF/Orig.) |
