Explizites Lernen dagegen erfolgt in spezifischen Lernumgebungen. Abstract (English):After illustrating the importance of learning in organizations, the concepts of learning culture and organizational development are considered. These concepts form a theoretical frame for learning in organizations and for the development of a learning organization. Thereby, the integration of the employees in a community of practice is emphasized as an important factor to promote learning. In addition to positive attitudes towards learning, a learning culture includes two forms of learning: implicit and explicit learning. The importance and effectiveness of implicit learning as well as its preconditions in the organization are explained in detail on the examples of group work and team work. Explicit learning, however, takes place in specific learning environments. Due to the increasing importance of using media in continued education we describe and discuss the potentials and advantages of multimedia learning environments as well as the context factors to be considered. Both forms of learning do not represent mutually exclusive alternatives but rather are complementary and contribute to the creation of a learning culture only if they are jointly realized.
