| Abstract (Englisch): | The article delineates and critically analyses the organisational framework of the Romanian primary education system and the training of primary school teachers. It provides a comprehensive overview of the contemporary state of primary schools and teacher training, while also presenting their historical background and development. This serves to contextualize the current structures and challenges, facilitating a nuanced understanding of the educational landscape. Notably, the article emphasizes the inclusion of linguistic minorities and the post-communist social formation within which the education system operates, highlighting their significance as distinctive characteristics in Europe.
