(DIPF/Orig.) |
Abstract (English): | With an inverter microwave oven, it is possible to apply continuously and accurately a low power (400 W) to aqueous solutions in beakers without causing bumping. In this way, lactose in dairy products can be detected in 60 seconds by a red color, which comes about by a reaction with methylamine or 1,6-diaminohexane (hexamethylenediamine) in alkaline solutions. The latter is already present in many school collections, as it was procured for the well-known "nylon string trick". (DIPF/Orig.) |
