| Abstract (German): | Zunächst werden allgemeine Entwicklungslinien im deutschen Bildungswesen zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts sowie nach Beendigung des 2. Weltkrieges aufgezeigt. Es folgen eine Übersicht über die IEA-Studien mit deutscher Beteiligung und ein Vergleich deutscher Leistungsentwicklung mit den Ergebnissen in mittel- bzw. nordeuropäischen Ländern sowie Staaten aus Übersee. Hervorgehoben werden Ergebnisse aus Finnland, den Niederlanden und England. Im Fazit werden Ursachen für die mangelhaften Schulleistungen in Deutschland angegeben. (DIPF/Mar) |
| Abstract (English): | If the last century is considered with regards to the quality of the educational system in Germany, one can identify, a marked development: The school system has degraded from the status of an international appreciated model to the present state of mediocrity that can no longer be denied after PISA.
