| Abstract (English): | In this contribution, Thorsten Philipp addresses the question of content, lines of development, conceptual characteristics and aporias of the concept of interdisciplinarity in their effects on research and academic teaching. What demands does interdisciplinarity make on universities? What opportunities, promises, and research needs are opened up? What are the central points of criticism?
