Abstract (English):Demands for decolonization in epistemology and educational theory have seen an upsurge in the debate of the last years. These demands often conceal inherent logical and practical problems of the concept itself as well as of its consequences. In this paper the authors give an overview of these problems and raise open questions which advocators of epistemic decolonization necessarily have to deal with. They are going to show that (1) the practicality of epistemic decolonization within academic teacher education cannot be taken for granted and that (2) the demand for epistemic decolonization itself can be self-defeating.
